30 Days of Gaming: Day 20

Heading towards the end of this challenge now.. Day 20 – Favourite genre.

I like a variety of games so this is a hard one. I guess the genre that most of my favourite games fall into is Action/Adventure. I also like RPGs, Platformers and Simulators (sports and racing) and sometimes combinations of those.

Uncharted 2

Winning Eleven

FFXIII

LittleBigPlanet

30 Days of Gaming: Day 19

Day 19 – Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.

Ratchet and Clank

The world of Ratchet & Clank. Just in general. Almost like being in a Pixar movie.

It’d also be awesome to live in..

Hoenn

Hoenn. The Pokémon world. Smile

30 Days of Gaming: Day 18

Day 18 – Favourite protagonist.

Another obvious one.

Zack Fair. He’s the hero of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

Not much I need to say about him. He has a very good character, optimistic, fun.. You can definitely connect with him and feel for him in the game.

He defeated Genesis and Sephiroth – no easy feat. He also gave Aerith her trademark pink ribbon and is responsible for her famous outfit.

Without Zack, we wouldn’t have Cloud in Final Fantasy VII.

Zack Sig

Remember this I whipped up a couple of years ago?

“Boy oh boy… the price of freedom is steep.”

Honourable mentions to: Nathan Drake, Chell, and there’s some others but I can’t think of any. So probably not worth mentioning. Smile with tongue out

30 Days of Gaming: Day 17

Would you believe I almost forgot posting this for today? Smile with tongue out

Day 17 – Favourite antagonist.

None other than..

Sephiroth

The one-winged angel, Sephiroth. Who else could it be?

He killed Aerith, destroyed Nibelheim, has a kick-ass boss theme, a sword that gets longer every time I look at it and is responsible for a lot of crazy stuff. Only few match up to him.

I would have more interesting things to write, but it’s quite late. So I won’t. haha

30 Days of Gaming: Day 16

Yay my favourite number!

Past the half way point, now we’re up to Day 16 – Game with the best cut scenes.

Cut scenes are what really drive the story in games and if they aren’t up to scratch, the game can look pretty bad.

I have a few good ones. Uncharted 2’s cut scenes were good because it was rendered using the game graphics which allows a seamless transition between the cut scene and game play – put together with no load times and you have a really good story-driven game. Another good one is ModNation Racers. For a game of its type, I thought it was fairly well done. The voice acting was great and it fit the theme of the game.

Crisis Core cut scene

But my favourite has got to be Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. The game used high quality pre-rendered CGI for their cut scenes as well as game-rendered scenes too (like Uncharted). When you got to a GCI cut scene, you get a chance to sit back and enjoy the story and what you’ve accomplished to get to that point. Some of these cut scenes are a beauty to watch as well. The only annoying thing is that they’re unskippable if you die and you have to rewatch them.

Keep that above shot in mind, you’ll see later on in this challenge..

30 Days of Gaming: Day 15

Day 15 – Post a screenshot from the game you’re playing right now.

Well I was just playing Uncharted 2 multiplayer, but a game I just started is:

Bit.Trip Beat

Bit.Trip Beat. This is a musical based game inspired by pong. This game is also very epileptic so I don’t recommend playing when tired, with a headache or without lights on. This will mess you up. Smile with tongue out

30 Days of Gaming: Day 14

Day 14 – Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper.

U3- Drake's Deception

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Announcement Wallpaper.

I was so excited when this was announced. The trailer looked so epically awesome. November seems (and is) so far away!

30 Days of Gaming: Day 13

Day 13 – A game you’ve played more than five times.

So obviously this means games you’ve completed more than five times.

I have to think a bit for this one. There’s not terribly many games that I have completed five times.

I’ll go with one that I’m confident that I have passed at least a few times.

Pokémon Emerald.

Probably haven’t completed this five times but I’ve done it at least twice and beaten the elite four even more times. Good memories with this game. Smile

30 Days of Gaming: Day 12

Day 12 – A game everyone should play.

Everyone should play LittleBigPlanet, at least once with their friends. This fun adventure will give you hours of fun and is a great way to spend time with friends, figuring out all the secrets of all the levels and finding hidden gems in the game. You can also create your own worlds.

Also, Sackboy is just so adorable!

30 Days of Gaming: Day 11

Day 11 – Gaming system of choice.

Despite all the drama of late about PSN and Geohotz/Anonymous, my gaming system of choice is still:

PlayStation 3

Now I’ve been a fan of the PlayStation ever since the original PS1. It was my first console, followed by the PS2 and PSP. So I guess it’s no surprise that the PlayStation 3 is my favourite console.

Without this console, you couldn’t enjoy great games such as Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, LittleBigPlanet and so on. It also doubles as a PS1 emulator, media player and Blu-Ray player.

My PSN: rithsv.
